What is pilates?

The pilates method of exercise is a unique system of stretching and strengthening resulting in a body that is stronger and better balanced. It develops body awareness, improving and changing the body’s postural and alignment habits and increasing flexibility and ease of movement.

Pilates is beneficial for:

The core fundamentals of the method are based upon a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the human body. The instructor uses this information to create a comprehensive exercise programme for each patient with the aim of restoring a greater sense of balance to the patient.

How do I get started?

  • You could begin with a private lesson in one of our clinics in Bristol and Bath.
  • Or you could join one of the group sessions held at Keynsham, Bristol Rehabilitation Gym.
  • As you become stronger, you can progress to more challenging Pilates for life exercises.
